Why is Tesla offering free Supercharging?

In Germany, Tesla will be offering the supercharger free of charge for the first time in 2022. This applies to the main travel season outside of peak times . The company is trying to equalize the utilization of the superchargers in Germany, France, Norway and Sweden along selected travel routes.

This campaign has existed in California for a number of years and has met with great approval there. Now Tesla is also making superchargers free of charge in Europe.

Due to the winter holidays, a lot of travel traffic is forecast for the weekends from February 18th to March 6th in Germany. Since Tesla wants to make the trip on vacation as pleasant as possible for its customers, the company tries to avoid waiting times at the supercharger. You can benefit from this and charge 3 weekends for free at the Tesla superchargers.
